Municipality

The village is home to a number of buildings dating back to the Middle Ages, including its castle, which bears the hallmarks of a large fortified manor house dating back to the late 15th century, and its church. The church is certainly the oldest building to have survived in the village, with parts probably dating back to the early 12th century. It was the parish church of Grandson until 1438, when the Bishop of Lausanne relieved the inhabitants of the obligation to travel up to Giez to attend religious services. There is another remarkable house adjacent to the castle: Les Tourelles. Its hexagonal staircase bears the date 1635 on the upper window lintel.
